The B&B Punta Sallustro is named after a location in the west of Salina Island, where in 1960 the owner of the house “Commander Sallustro”, Marshal of Captaincy, in spite of adverse weather and sea conditions, rescued a boat in difficulty with the help of his patrol boat and crew. This choice is a homage to our grandfather Paolo.
The B&B is located in the beautiful historical town centre of Lipari, in Via Sant’Anna, 150 metres from Corso Vittorio Emanuele and 300 metres from the picturesque Marina Corta square, the departure point for boats to the other islands. Plenty of shops, food markets, restaurants and spas are available nearby.
The exact date of construction of our beautiful building is not known, but presumably it dates back to between 1700s and 1800s. The B&B was completely renovated in 2015 and it is set on two floors. The ground floor was used as warehouse, barn and accommodation for the attendants while the upper floor was used by the owners and it consisted of large communicating rooms with majolica-tiled floors and ceiling frescoes. The building was renovated with extra care to preserve its original style and interior decoration by using modern materials such as majolica tiles and lava stone, as well as original furnishings, such as tiles from Santo Stefano Di Camastra and Naples. A beautiful Mediterranean garden decorates the inner courtyard.
